A photo collection of Iran’s native silk knowledge has been included in the list of 100 top collections at the Humanity Photo Awards in China.
The photo compilation features anthropological research and documentation of Iran’s native silk knowledge, which was arranged by Babak Sadiqi in cooperation with the Research Institute of Anthropology and the Research Institute of Cultural Heritage and Tourism (RICHT).
The collection was selected from among over 7,800 other collections.
The research work received a plaque of honor by the Tokyo International Foto Awards (TIFA).
The Humanity Photo Awards is one of the most prestigious international photo festivals in the world, dealing with subjects related to culture and is held biennially.
Iranian artisans use silk in many cultural representations of the ancient society. Silk can be found in Persian carpets and clothes.
